ADAMAWA STUDENTS TO GET SCHOLARSHIP ALLOWANCES BEFORE DECEMBER, FINTIRI PROMISED.


As part of his two days working visit to Mubi, the Adamawa state Governor promised to pay scholarship allowances to Adamawa students, studying in higher learning institutions before December this year 2019.

The Governor who made the pledge while addressing students of Adamawa State University ADSU Mubi during his visit to the institution, said his administration will improve on welfare of students in the state.

Governor Umaru Fintiri made it known to them that the present administration has given education a priority and will do everything within available resources to ensure the university reclaim its status as institution of excellence.

Responding to a concern raised by the Governing Council of the university, that in the last eleven years there was no convocation ceremony in respect to graduating students, the Governor assured that very soon, the state government will facilitate organizing such ceremony.

He commended the Acting Vice Chancellor of ADSU Professor Kaletapwa Farauta for her excellent performance in the university especially in renovating a large capacity hostel despite limited resources.

The Governor in an interview with newsmen after inspecting some ongoing projects including an e-library and one completed hostel in ADSU, restated the commitment of the current government to reposition the university to greater height.

He said in the next few years, the university will be massively transformed to a standard so that it will compete favourably with other developed ones to enable Adamawa indigenes especially children of the poor get sound university education.

On his part, the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Adamawa State University Mubi, Alhaji Auwal Tukur said his team has already swung into action to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Governor of repositioning the institution to gain back its status of excellence in the country.

He applauded the efforts of Governor Umaru Fintiri for putting priority on education sector and disclosed that the visit by the Governor has rekindled their moral to double up efforts in the task of stimulating developments in ADSU.
