*Allegations of Violations Of Procurement Act Against Bauchi Governor Mischievous ― PDP Chieftain.*

A story published by an online platform alleging that Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, awarded a contract to a company he has a link with has been described as mischievous, injurious and a deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of the governor.

A chieftain of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, Alhaji Bibi Dogo, dismissed the publication as untrue and a fabrication by the authors who he said are out for vendetta stating that it cannot be proved that the governor awarded a N3.6bn contract to his cronies in contravention of the Code of Conduct and Public Procurement laws.

In a statement he issued to journalists in Bauchi on Sunday, Bibi Dogo said that the allegations were the handiwork of those who lost out in the scramble for political power and influence in the state, accusing them of making it a pastime these days to “denigrate Governor Bala Mohammed by engaging in character throwing of political innuendos and brickbats against him in the press, especially on social media.”

Bibi Dogo further said that “This is coming at a time Governor Bala Mohammed’s ascension as the Executive Governor of Bauchi State confirmed by the electorates in Bauchi State, the electoral body, Tribunal, appeal court and the apex court.”

He added that “It has become a historical imperative and no amount of blackmail can stop the inevitable enthronement of Governor Bala and many successes he has recorded within a short period of time in the governance of the state because all were destined by Allah the almighty.”

He, therefore, condemned “the embarrassing move by the self-styled Political opponents of the governor, whose only motive is to attempt to stop Bala’s successes, because his emergence as governor of Bauchi State in 2019 first put them in to shame, second ushered in unprecedented infrastructural and human capacity development of the state, as he worked tirelessly and selflessly to restore the lost glory of the state, which is evident today in the numerous projects he embarked upon that touched the lives of common man in the state.”

The PDP Stalwart also said:  “Bala as an experienced and seasoned administrator follow due process and the laid down rules and regulations in the act of governing the state.”

He added that: “These allegations, are not true frivolous imaginations of the reporter hired by the political opponents of the governor to release unbalanced information, it’s being done without genuine discreet investigations rather than gimmicks to cause confusion, disaffection, hatred among the people of the state and to distract the governor with the sole aim to bring him down.”

Bibi Dogo, however, advised the governor to focus more on his developmental projects and assured that the governor will be vindicated and he will come out stronger and still put his detractor’s to shame as he has been doing.

It will be recalled that an online medium in its publication alleged that Bauchi State governor, Sen Bala Mohammed, awarded a company in which he is a director a shady contract worth N3.6 billion, for the supply of 105 “officials vehicles for the use of the governor and other government officials, in contravention of Code of Conduct and Public Procurement laws.”
