Few hours ago the management of West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination WASSCE released summary result for 2019 with Taraba state emerging first in the whole North-East subregion with 84.74% score.
Recall that in 2018 Taraba state scored 75.3% in WASSCE. The further emerging positive outcome is against the backdrop of Gov Ishaku's investment in the education sector having met Taraba at the lowest group of performance rating.
YOWICAN speaking through its Chairman, Ephesians Jesse, thanked Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for recording huge success in the educational sector.
He said "Our appreciation also goes to the Honorable Commissioner of Education, Mr Johannes Jigem who have stood his ground to support the Rescue Team to ensure that the ongoing reformation in the educational sector see the light of the day. You are indeed a good ambassador to His Excellency. Keep it up and we are sure of hiting 90% in 2020"
"Our thanks also goes to the Executive Secretary of Post-primary schools management board, Mr David Mailafiya, who have not relent in his monitory and supervisory roles of ensuring that the teachers aren't only performing their duties but strictly abiding by doctrines of teaching. You're no doubt one of the reasons for this great feat" Jesse added.
Conclusively YOWICAN also appreciated the Principals of various schools and their teachers for working round the clock to ensure that the best is achieved.
