Amb. Wilberforce Juta was reported to have died on Saturday morning, August 15th 2020 after a brief illness.


Frontline news blog learnt, Governor Darius Ishaku attended the funeral on behalf of the good people of Taraba state held at the LCCN Cathedral Jimeta Adamawa state.


Represented by his deputy Engr. Haruna Manu, Governor Darius described the ex-governor as one elder statesman to be an epitome of humaneness.


Taraba governor prayed for God to grant the elder statesman eternal rest.


It could be recalled that, Amb. Wilberforce Juta, was deputy governor of the defunct Gongola state in 1979, and later became governor early in 1983 when his principal, Abubakar Barde, resigned from office.


Juta remained governor till October 1983 when his successor, Alhaji Bamangar Tukur, was elected.


He was also Nigeria’s ambassador to Zimbabwe from 2000 to 2004 and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until his death.
