TARABA GET'S NOVEL CORONA-VIRUS TESTING CENTRE .
Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state, had on Friday 28/08/19 commissioned a remodeled GeneXpert laboratory for testing Covid-19 within the Specialists Hospital Jalingo.
This testing facility , adds to the number of treatment facilities the state currently has, which can be said as increasing the capacity for managing COVID-19 in the state.
While inaugurating the new facilities,
Governor Darius Ishaku said, The state government had previously commissioned a 100-bed isolation and treatment facilities within the state, which he assured citizens of a sound testing center to be provided soon.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy Engr. Haruna Manu, said today's commissioning is in fulfillment of his promised while commissioning the 100 beds isolation center few months ago.
He added that his government will also provide sample collation centers across the state to be located at;
Ardo kola,
Wukari,
Takum,
Gassol and
Sardauna local government area.
Governor Ishaku further said, the state’s COVID-19 technical committee will remain the central management emergency response by the state government and the need to test will be surveillance driven and based on a clear case definition,“ he added.
