EDO VICTORY : GOV FINTIRI, VERITABLE PLAYER IN NATIONAL PDP AFFAIRS

The Edo State elections have come and gone . However one thing that came as a surprise is the outcome- the victory of the People's Democratic Party and Obaseki. The victory could not have come about without the active participation from outside the State. Thanks to the Active participation of River's State Governor Nyesom Wike and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who were both Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Edo Governorship Election National Campaign Council.
It is worthy to note that Governor Fintiri was a visible figure who worked to ensure and oversee the smooth running and implementation of the party strategy which culminated into a landslide victory for the PDP. Of note is the fact that having succeeded in previous assignments it came as a no surprise that he would be chosen for that mother of all political battle against political giants like Bola Tinubu, an APC National leader and Adams Oshiomhole a former national Chairman and former Governor of Edo State. It would only take a man of Fintiri's calibre to wade in and win against all odds backed by the might of the Federation Government.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is not only a Governor but a man of many parts. In the past few years he has established himself as an ardent, dependable and fearless party chieftain of the PDP. In the past, several politicians have decamped from one party to the other but Fintiri had been steadfast in the PDP
It would be recalled that when he was denied the Governorship ticket he remained within the party structure and bided his time till fortune and destiny came to play.
Fintiri has been assigned to carry out different party functions nationally and has excelled in all.
With the tense situation in Borno considering the the dangers posed by the insurgents Fintiri was assigned the task of supervising the congresses in the insurgency riddled state where people fear to go. Full of courage he went there and carried out the assignment to the satisfaction of all parties involved in the congresses.
In Kogi state where the polity was riddled with serious inter party conflicts alledgedly sponsored by a rival party, Governor Fintiri did not fail to carry out the assignment given him . He stood at the heat of the battle that withnesed gunshots in a deliberate attempt to frustrate the Governorship primaries of the PDP in the state. On this assignment, he did credibly well just like in Borno State. The processes were adjudged among the best in the country given the fact that no complaints or litigations were filed.
Remarkably, Governor Fintiri has been found worthy after assignments and has continually been vested such tasks due to his good track record and was to later serve his party in the most volatile and unpredictable KANO State. The ward congresses in Kano can be nothing less than daunting , with 484 wards and the highest political consciousness coupled with a powerful opposition Government, managing ward congresses successfully is no mean feat.
Governor Fintiri known as the "INDOMITABLE Overcomer " was to later do the same in Kaduna State which is the heart of Northern Nigeria.
In all that he did, things went well with no accusations of partiality.
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is a veritable player in the national affairs of the PDP . Even in Adamawa State, his home state he is loved for the love he has for the people. His equitable and selfless service as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly endeared him to the people .
It is the same Fintiri who against all odds won Adamawa State that against all odds actively participated and captured Edo from the clutches of APC and especially Oshiomhole and Tinubu.
