 First October;Eight Inmates Granted Pardon By Gov. Ishaku

The Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has granted pardon to eight (8) inmates under the Prerogative of Mercy.


This was contained in a Press Release dated 30th September 2020 and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Iliya Bekyu Akweh.


It states that the pardon granted prisoners by the Governor is pursuant to powers conferred on him by Section 212 subsection one (c) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999.


It states that the inmates are serving various terms of imprisonment at the Serti and Wukari Custodial Centres in the state.


According to the Press Release, those who have regained their freedom from the Serti Custodial Centre include;

1. Humtaro DD Abanda

2. Sani Alhaji Baushe

3. Tancy Mtseikyaa

4. Ali Lawan


While those from the Wukari Custodial Centre are;

1.Habibu Mohammed

2. Habilu Altine

3. John Lamido

4. John Bulus


To this end, the authorities of the Nigerian Correctional Service Serti Satellite Custodial Centre and Wukari Custodial Centre are hereby directed to give immediate effect to the Order and discharge the inmates accordingly.
