Governor Ishaku's Initiatives in Restructuring the security architecture of Taraba state


The state of being protected or safe from harm in Nigeria suffers a terrible depleting state over the years. Taraba state appeared to be worst hit as communal crisis, kidnapping, armed robbery and banditry reportedly bored hole of threat, pain and suffering in the heart of the state and it citizens. Insecurity is the topic of discourse in virtually all media houses and security meetings have taken over the lofty part of any state meeting in the state.Its obvious that Taraba state  is sitting on a keg of gunpowder that can explode if things are not put right within the shortest time.

In it effort to nip in the bud the nidicolous state of insecurity in the state, the Taraba state government under the leadership of Apostle of peace His Excellency Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, held a synergistic meeting which include the top security echelons of the state from the Executive, Legislature, Judiciary, the Nigeria Army, Police, other security agents and key stakeholders across all facets of governance.

The outcome of the meeting was the agreement to compliment the inadequate number of security professionals, who are at a point overwhelmed by the increasing number of cyst of criminals and their activities in the state by involving the full services of the civilian Join Task Force JTF, popularly known as Vigilante. These Vigilante personnels will be littered across the length and breathe of the state with concentration at troubled spots.

Residents of Jalingo and Taraba state are advised to report any suspicious movements to security professionals close to them. The government will frown at any effort to conceal criminal activities in the state and met out punitive actions on any person/groups found wanting.
