By Yukniwoh CJ

A car owner crashed into a gutter today after violating the curfew imposed by the state government following the invasion of a COVID-19 Palliative warehouse yesterday.

The accident happened today Sunday 25, October 2020, opposite the Board of Internal Revenue, Jalingo, Taraba State.

According to an eye witness, the owner of the Toyota Starlet with plate number, Gombe AW 685 GME, was driving from  Michelin, while approaching the Board of Internal Revenue, a Toyota RAV4 owner was negotiating the U-Turn after YELWA ANNEX Hotel before FCMB, took his bearing and the starlet owner had already got close. To avoid a collision, he attempted playing safe and swooped into the channel.

The RAV4 owner told Frontline News that, while attempting to negotiate his turn, he noticed the starlet owner driving at the speed of light, then quickly negotiated his turn and packed safely.

Speaking at the scene, the red starlet car owner said he was trying to avoid a collision while turning his car towards the road shoulder, he dived into the gutter.

Blame games were inter-played between the car owners.

Suddenly a police officer who was on mufti intervened in the matter, trying to see how they can sort themselves out.

The three of them later entered the RAV4 and drove off leaving the starlet car well positioned in the gutter.

As of 4:26 pm at the accident scene, there was no Road Safety Official Present to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Cars, Tricycles and people were seen moving on the streets freely with the presence of Law enforcement officers unnoticed before I left the scene.
