As a mark of respect to whom respect is due, I would like to thank God Almighty for giving our dear State Taraba a woman of caliber and great substance
I sincerely cannot find the right diction to befittingly articulate the accolades that is due to such a fine personality as Her Excellency Anna Darius Ishaku Dickson the wife of the Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Darius Ishaku Dickson. Your Excellency, I deem it an honour and privilege to write this epistle to your honour as a template to what is to come.
Her Excellency, Barrister Anna Mbasughun Darius Ishaku Dickson The First Lady of Taraba State was born on the 24th of August 1957 in Wusasa, Zaria, Kaduna State. Her Excellency though born in Kaduna State, hails from Vandekiah Local Government Area of Benue State.
Her Excllency had her elementary school at St Bartholomew primary school, wusasa Zaria and her secondary school education at the famous Girls High school Gindiri Plateau state.
After her Secondary school, She proceeded to the pretigious citadel of learning, Sir Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where She bagged a Law Degree and was called to Bar at the Nigerian Law School Lagos.
Her Excellency Anna Darius Ishaku Dickson founded the non governmental organization "Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba" on 7th of July 2016. Its vision was to become a global key player in providing humanitarian services to all who found themselves in need.
On the 22nd of March 2017, the foundation announced it partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria to train unemployed youths. The CBN Entrepreneurship Development Training which had been in existence for over two years in the North-East zone of Nigeria had failed to have Tarabans participating in it's training programs until the intervention of Hope Afresh Foundation.[8]
Another project is the 'Hope Health Center' a rehabilitation center which is committed to the improvements of lives of the citizens of Taraba State living with the effects of substance abuse and amiliorating the adverse effects on families and societies at large. She is also a strong advocate for Women in power, politics and peace.
The Ndola special development area in Taraba state was first discovered by the first Lady who informed His Excellency Governor Darius Ishaku and the rest is history.
She is a humanitarian and a philanthropist whose strong advocacy for education has seen countless number of children and adults as beneficiaries of her foundations scholarship scheme.
The IDP's in Taraba State can testify of her outreach programs which will forever be remembered.
At 63, this icon is a beacon of hope to the hopeless and mother to the motherless. It will not be out of place to celebrate her for being a champion and an advocate for the girl child rights and education. Her place in the anals of Taraba state history will be crested in gold.
As we roll out the drums of celebration, it is my sincere wish and prayers that Her Excellency will fulfill her days on earth and remain the rock behind His Excellency, Governor Darius Ishaku Dickson.
Ma'am, the good people of Taraba State celebrate you.
May your days be long.
