Gov Ishaku donates relief materials to flood victims in Dampar community.
The victims of flood in Dampar community of Ibi local government received succour from Taraba state governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku. Arc. Ishaku, speaking through the Caretaker Chairman of Ibi local government, Hon Bala Bako said, the provision of the relief materials is to ameliorate their sufferings as comprehensive assessment on damages for onward complaint to the ministry saddle with responsibility of handling humanitarian challenges is ongoing.
Items donated were bags of cement, bundles of mat, bags of maize and rice, cartons of maggi, cartons of tea and assorted noodles.
Hon Bala Bako appreciated Gov Ishaku for his prompt response to the plight of the victims, largely farmers who lost their farm produce to the flood. That the succour provided by the Governor, especially those food items would help in no small measure.
In Hon Bako's word "We can't thank His Excellency enough for the relief materials. These food items will assist our people, especially those who lost their farm produce to the flood".
Also the Chief of Dampar, Alh Hashimu Adunga, thanked Gov Ishaku for his caring heart, especially towards keeping in touch ever since the flood wrecked his community. He also charged those assigned to distribute the items to inculcate equity and fair play in the process.
"it only takes a leader with a large heart to be ears up when such disaster occurs on his people. So those charged with the responsibility of distributing these items should emulate Gov Ishaku's trait of equity and sincerity"
"May l also use this medium to call on Tarabans not to relent in praying and supporting Gov Ishaku so as to keep achieving his developmental strides to our people", Alhaji Adunga added.
It would be recalled that Dampar community in Ibi local government was among those communities ravaged by flood as a result of water release across banks of River Benue due to excessive rainfall in October, where rice farmers counted their losses and houses submerged in the pool of flood.
