local government areas of Kaduna state have written Governor Nasir El-Rufai for
making them pass through severe hardships - The residents, under the Adara
Development Association (ADA), accused El-Rufai of selective dealings and
subjecting them to a tiny minority domination - The association listed eight
areas the governor and his administration have brought suffering on the people
An ethnic nationality in Kaduna has written to the governor of the state, Nasir
El-Rufai, informing him of the unbearable situation its people are passing
through under the administration. Under the Adara Development Association (ADA)
in the Kajuru and Kachia local government areas of the state, the residents
alleged that they have been marginalised and made to face the consequences of
discrimination in Kaduna.
Claiming that the governor and its
administration have become insensitive to the plights of the people, the
association noted that their area now experiences widespread attacks. The
residents said some of them had been killed and houses burnt in the area
populated by Christians but subjected to discrimination. In the letter, the
residents named their concerns to include: 1. Widespread criminality and
dastardly attacks in Adara land 2. Suffering of IDPs and other crisis victims
3. The assassination of His Royal Highness Agom Adara 4. Scrapping of Adara
chiefdom 5. Partitioning of Adara community in to two 6. Subordination of the
people in Kachia local government area under a proposed Kachia chiefdom 7. The
subordination of the predominantly Christian population in Kajuru local
government area under a tiny minority Muslim population in Kajuru emirate 8.
Refusal of government to engage with or at least be sensitive to the concerns
and feelings of the community in any way during this dark period.
