Today being the 27th day of May 2020, one Nasiru Audu Baba was arraigned before the Taraba State Upper Area Court upon a complaint of impersonating the office of the MD Taraba Micro Finance Bank, filed by the Taraba State Attorney General. Impersonation is a crime punishable under the Taraba State Penal Code Law with five years imprisonment.
The Prosecuting team from the office of the Attorney General was led by one Barrister Neirus Johnson. The contention of the prosecution is that the tenure of office of the accused person going by CBN guide lines has expired and the accused person refused to vacate office, hence the prosecution.
After the preliminary arguments the accused was further remanded in prison custody. The Taraba State Government has over 90percent shares in Taraba Micro Finance Bank, thus, making the State Government the owner of the Bank.
