Bauchi:
BAUCHI GOVERNOR ASSENT 2020 REVISED BUDGET AND FIVE OTHER BILLS 
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state signed into law, the State COVID-19 Response approved 2020 revised budget from 167 billion naira to 129 billion naira.
The Governor also assented bills on Violence Against Person, Renaming College of Health Technology Ningi to Belinda and Gates College of Health Technology Ningi, renaming College of Nursing and Midwifery to Aliko Dangote.
Other bills signed into law by the Governor are, establishment of the Bauchi State Public Procurement 2020 and renaming of AD Rufai College of Legal studies to AD Rufai College of Education and Legal Studies.
Shortly after assenting the bills, Governor Bala Mohammed said his administration is poised to work assiduously with the assembly to come up with a veritable institutional and legal framework for doing government's businesses in a bid to provide the required good governance.
He said the review of the 2020 budget is to block all the gaps created due to the negative impact of COVID-19 on economy.
The Governor who said the revised budget focused on the sectors of Health, Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure and Social Services, noted that, the state government has made adequate provision for continuity in the execution of developmental projects.
He also said that, revising the budget is in conformity with the federal government's determination to block waste and leakages in the execution of laudable projects.
"On behalf of the Government and people of Bauchi state, I want to express our gratitude and appreciation to Almighty Allah for this day, today is a very historical to me for signing 6 bills in a day. Out of the six, two are Member bills while the remaining four are Executive bills."
"My Government is poised to make sure we provide good governance and we will work assiduously with our lawmakers irrespective of our party differences for us to meet the yearnings and aspirations of our people."
"I commend members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly for their proactiveness, nationalism and patriotism, with that, we have surprised people across the world on the way we do our politics, the way we collaborate and interact."
"With all modestly and humility, I appreciate the House for the commendation, in the budget, we make sure that previous projects and programmes are not abandoned because we have made provision for continuity, government is dynamic."
Governor Bala Mohammed said even before the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, his administration has completed many developmental projects with the 2020 budget.
On the renaming of 2 Colleges of Health in the state, the Governor said the state government deemed it necessary to rename the institutions in appreciation for the positive support of the philanthropists in ensuring effective healthcare delivery.
Governor Bala Mohammed therefore directed the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to ensure full adherence to all the penalties contained in the bill signed on violence against persons prohibition.
The Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman who led the presentation of the six bills to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for their assent, described the bills as important to the growth and development of the state.
"Your Excellency, today we are here to present you six bills for your assent, today is a historical day in Bauchi state especially with our relationship with you."

The Chairman, House Committee on Budget and Appropriation, Honorable Abdulkadir Umar Dewu said the entire members of the Assembly have unanimously agreed to present commendation letter to Governor Bala Mohammed because of the well prepared 2020 revised budget document.
