GOVERNOR ISHAKU  TASKED MUSLIMS TO PRAY FOR PEACE

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has urged Muslims ummah  to support and pray for peace as they mark Eid-el-Kabir.

The Governor stated this in his Special Sallah Message to People of the State.

He congratulated the entire Muslim faithful for surviving the challenges of the present times, particularly, the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, to witness and to celebrate another Sallah festival. 

The Governor advised Muslims not to forget to use the opportunity of the festival to honour Allah  and pray for His continuous protection.

Governor Ishaku said COVID-19 has been a monumental threat to all aspects of human life and commended Tarabans for showing  understanding during the restrictions on movements and religious gatherings necessitated by the need to contain the spread of the pandemic.

He emphasized that the proactive measures taken by  government has helped in no small way in making Taraba one of the best managers of the pandemic with the  record  of the lowest cases of infection and zero casualty.

Governor Darius Ishaku encouraged Muslims to continue in their prayers against the pandemic because global statistics of the devastation being caused by COVID-19 still clearly indicate that the worst is not yet over.

The Governor assured Tarabans that his administration will not relent in its quest to restore permanent peace in all parts of the state saying efforts are now being put in place to drastically contain kidnapping and other incidents of criminality in the state.

He called for support for the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by his administration to resolve the crisis between the Tiv and their neighbouring communities so that it can succeed in achieving permanent peace in those areas of the state.

Governor Ishaku averred that the state has already seen a lot in the areas of socio-economic transformation in the past five years of his administration and  assured Tarabans of  his determination to complete all on-going projects for sustainable development.

The Governor reminded Muslims not to forget to observe all COVID-19 protocols even as they celebrate Sallah.
