 DONADDA COMMUNITIES  APPEALED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM SPIRITED INDIVIDUAL



Donadda communities in Lau Local Government Area, have appealed for Assistance from Government, corporate Organizations and Spirited individuals, in order to alleviate their sufferings, following the flood disaster that submerged crops and farmlands in the Area recently.


They made the appealed in an interview with our correspondent at Donadda, the ward Headquarters, at the weekend.


Speaking in an interview, Jonah Shavah, and Akila Moiwa, said the call became necessary considering the hardship facing the people as a result of the flood that destroyed  crops and farmlands in the area.


The Speaker said, most of the people affected by the flood are peasants farmers whose source of livelihoods depended on what they farm at a particular season.


They maintained that at present the people are living from hands to mouths even though, it was a season which the  normally harvested their crops.


They called on the government to diverse most effective means of reaching out to them, whenever it wants to assist them; alleging  fraud in the present methods where, assistance where rendered through intermediary, adding that such assistance rarely get to the targeted victims.


Also Speaking, a youth leader in the Area, Yayirus Thomas said, by know, they would have being harvesting their maize but for the flood disaster that hit the area  and sued for assistance.


It could be recalled that Donadda Communities have had their crops and farmlands submerged early this months.
