Anna Ishaku and the Hope Afresh Foundation for giving up their hall and offices to be used.

The Chiefs of both communities who spoke  through the waziri appreciated the Governor for his concern in bringing an end to the crisis in the area. He said there had been rancour in the area even before the Governor assumed office. According to him, looking deep into the causes of the crisis it could be deduced that a fight for titles was a major factor. He applauded the Governor for his wisdom in settling the disputes by creating more chiefdoms and giving each tribe its own chiefdom.

Reacting to the reports, the Governor thanked Justice Silas for taking up such an important job and for submitting an elaborate report with workable recommendations and solutions. The Governor said Bakundi Chiefdom and Jibo Chiefdom are both of the same roots and sees no reason for the crisis.

He however said most times, the causes of these problems are left aside while the symptoms are attended to which ought not so to be. He stated that the Commission's reports had worked in places like Gembu in the past helping to restore peace to troubled areas and said he would ensure strict and thorough implementation of the reports.

He assured the people that he would put in all it takes to  ensure that the Shomo and Jole community crisis is resolved. He said as a politician, his ultimate goal is to resolve unresolvable problems and pledged his commitment to resolving the problem. He charged the people not to solve problems through wars as matters can be  resolved amicably through dialogue.

The Governor urged the people to imbibe the spirit of "live and let's live" for both indigenes or strangers alike. calling on the people to live in peace while stressing that there is nothing as important as living in  peace which is the best means of getting development and sustaining it.

He reiterated his resolve to ensure the return of lasting peace to the area and appreciated the Chiefs of Bakundi and Jibo for taking it upon themselves to live in peace and to inform the people to live harmoniously and peacefully with their neighbours.

A date for the inauguration of the new chiefs and presentation of staff of office  would be announced in due course, the Governor said.
