Head, Mass Communication Department, Taraba State Polytechnic Visits Frontline News' Office

The Head, Mass Communication Department, Taraba State Polytechnic Mr. Linus M. Ngantem visited Frontline News' Office located at Tawa Plaza, No75, Hammanruwa Way, Jalingo on Monday the 19th of October 2020. The HOD who was accompanied by Mr. Famous A., a senior lecturer in the department arrived at Frontline News' Office at 4:30 pm.


On arrival, Mr. Linus was received by the CEO of Frontline News, Engr. Terence Joseph. The Engr expressed utmost glee having the Head in their office and acknowledged him as an expert in Journalism. 


As they interacted, the Engineer said, he lived in Lagos for several years and most of the stories he read about Taraba, portrayed the state in a bad light. "After returning from Lagos, I felt there is a need for us to tell our own story," he said. He added that Frontline News has tales to tell about Taraba State and the northeast at large. He further stressed that Taraba State for instance is rich with diverse cultural heritage, beautiful people, abundant natural resources, educational institutions, agriculture, just to mention but a few.


The CEO further told the HOD that stories about Taraba State and other features from his department could also be published on Frontline News Blog'.


Responding, the pioneer Head of Department, a senior scholar in Journalism and an author who also heads the Film and Television Production Department, Theatre and Media Arts said, the emergence of Frontline News is a welcome development. He promised to deploy some sound students to cover some news bids for Frontline. With this he said, we shall be able to have a wider scope of coverage. 


The media scholar also said that publishable research works on cultures and other aspects of Taraba State will be forwarded to Frontline News for publication. He added that Frontline News will also serve as one of the media outfits for students on Industrial Attachment and a research ground for prospective journalism scholars.
