Health workers' eulogises Gov Ishaku's achievements in Healthcare delivery.

Today team of National Health Emergency Maternal and Child Health Intervention Centre led by Dr Ngozi Nwosu visited Taraba state Governor, Arc Darius Ishaku and eulogised his administration's achievements in the primary health care sector.

Dr Nwosu read out list of those achievements, especially on preventive measures taken by the Gov Ishaku led administration to reduce mother/child mortality rate during delivery and child infancy.

Dr Nwosu said "The aim of this delegation to Taraba state is for a sensitization programme, but feel necessary to come and show appreciation to Gov Ishaku whose administration has been responsive to our calls, which has so far, recorded remarkable achievements in the primary health care sector".

"Gov Ishaku is one of the state governors in the country who are committed to payment of counterpart funds for collaborative health programmes" she added.

Gov Ishaku responded that he took over as the Governor of Taraba at a time that the health infrastructure were in a state of dilapidation but had to intervene with the re-construction and reequipping of three general hospitals in the there senatorial zones.

Gov Ishaku buttressed that his intervention programme in the health sector was actively supported by TY Danjuma Foundation with the building of one of the best maternity hospitals, Mama Rifkatu Maternity Hospital in Takum - a maternity facility that has handled thousands of child delivery cases from Benue and even  Cameroun.
